      Frequently Asked Questions
How much notice do you need?
We would like three days notice, but can place someone with 24 hours notice if need be.

Does insurance cover the cost?
Only long-term care insurance policies. No health insurance covers our services.

Does any government program cover the cost?
No.

What happens when the care-giver needs time off?
We send in a relief person with similar experience to cover for them. Sometimes the care-giver prefers no regular time off. If the care-giver gets sick, we can replace them quickly. Once a care-giver is placed, the client is never left without care. (Exceptions when appropriate are short trips to the market or pharmacy)

Can you do short term care?
Our service is set up and priced to do long term care. To us, that is four weeks or longer. We can do shorter assignments, but that is the exception.

What if there is a couple living together?
Our base rates are for a single individual. There is a discount for the second individual in the home, based on the level of care needed.

Can you do five days a week if the children can manage the care on the weekends?
Yes.

Can I interview the care-givers first?
Normally not. Our company is responsible for screening, contracting, managing and scheduling the care-givers. If a client wants to change care-givers for any reason, we will do so at no charge, as many times as necessary until the client is perfectly satisfied.

Can you accept payments weekly?
Normally not. Our system is geared to two-week intervals between payments. A statement is sent once every two weeks.

Do you bill before or after service is rendered?
All service is prepaid, usually four weeks at a time. An agreement is entered into for four weeks of service and payment is due on signing the agreement.

What if the client has to go into a facility, or dies, before the service period ends?
A refund will be made for all days of service not rendered. After that, a full refund will be made for any unused days. Refund payments will be sent within 30 days of the last day of service.

What if the client just wants to terminate service before the end of the service period in the contract?
They can do this by giving ten days written notice. A refund will be made for all days of service not rendered. After that, a full refund will be made for any unused days. Refund payments will be sent within 30 days of the last day of service.
